SP Chief Mulayam Singh too supports Baba Ramdev’s campaign
June 12, New Delhi: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev secured the support of Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav in his movement against black money. Baba Ramdev met Samajwadi Party chief and Member of Parliament Mulayam Singh Yadav today at his Delhi residence.
This meeting with Mulayam Singh Yadav comes a day after he met TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu and promised a nationwide agitation from August 9. Naidu has pledged support to Ramdev as well as Anna Hazare in the fight against corruption and has organised apolitical campaigns in this regard in Andhra Pradesh.
After the meet, Mulayam singh Yadav said the Samajwadi Party is against black money.“We are against black money and good that he (Ramdev) initiated the movement”, he said.
Baba Ramdev had earlier said the motive behind his meetings with leaders of various political outfits was to build a consensus on the black money and corruption issues.
Baba Ramdev said that he will meet Left, UPA and NDA alliance partners to get support for his campaign to bring back black money stashed in tax havens abroad.
“I am meeting all the parties to create a political consensus on the matter,” said Baba Ramdev.
“This movement is not against a person or a political party. It is for the benefit of the country,” he added.
Baba Ramdev further said that he would also meet Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on the black money issue in the days to come.
He had earlier met Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Gadkari, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar, Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh and Akali Dal supremo Parkash Singh Badal.
Ramdev may meet Odisha Chief Minister and BJD chief Naveen Patnaik tomorrow.
